Preparation and Continuing Education

Welcome to the ɬÀï·¬ Education Agency's (TEA) home page for educator preparation. For general information for educator preparation programs and the ɬÀï·¬ Administrative Code governing educator preparation programs, see General Program Information. Educators must meet high standards and be well-prepared to teach in the classrooms of this state.

Providing a quality education for all ɬÀï·¬ children requires partnerships among TEA, educator preparation program providers, public and private schools, institutions of higher education and the community. The ɬÀï·¬ Education Agency is committed to ensuring quality educator preparation programs that recruit and prepare qualified educators who meet the needs of all learners in today's and tomorrow's ɬÀï·¬ classrooms.

All Continuing Professional Education (CPE) providers must be approved and registered by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) and ɬÀï·¬ Education Agency. This registration ensures that activities offered for CPE credit support the professional growth of educators in the knowledge and skills necessary to improve student achievement in ɬÀï·¬ public schools. Only those CPE activities from approved registered providers will be recognized for certificate renewal purposes
