Required Reporting on Salary Increases

House Bill 3 (HB 3), passed by the 86th ɬÀï·¬ Legislature (Legislature) in 2019, required that all local education agencies (LEAs) report to the Legislature on salary or wage increases as a result of funding from HB 3, as follows:

SECTION 5.008. Not later than December 1, 2020, each school district shall submit to the legislature a report on salary or wage increases provided to district employees under Section 48.051(c), Education Code, as added by this Act, for the 2019-2020 school year. The report must include for each salary or wage increase:

(1) the employee’s position at the school district; and

(2) the amount of the increase.

ɬÀï·¬assisted LEAs with this statutory reporting requirement by providing a reporting template and posting the submitted files on this web page. The web page includes submissions from 1,025ÌýLEAs. LEAs were not required to submit a file to ɬÀï·¬to meet the legislative reporting requirement; therefore, not all LEAs subject to the reporting requirement are listed on this page. If an LEA chose to report this information on its own, it could have done so in a number of different ways and would have submitted it directly to the Legislature.

ɬÀï·¬compiled statewide statistics based only on the compensation information that was submitted through the agency and listed on this page. ɬÀï·¬did not verify or audit any of the information submitted by LEAs through this process.
