The purpose of this communication is to inform superintendents and district administrators that they can now submit their application to participate in the ɬÀï·¬ Through-year Assessment Pilot (TTAP) for the 2024–2025 school year.Ìý

TTAP Year 3 Overview

As required by House Bill 3906, 86th ɬÀï·¬ Legislature, 2019, the ɬÀï·¬ Education Agency (TEA) continues to further develop and expand the pilot of an innovative, through-year assessment model as a possible replacement for the summative State of ɬÀï·¬ Assessments of Academic Readiness (ɬÀ﷬®). A through-year assessment model refers to a progress monitoring system that provides students with multiple opportunities throughout the school year to demonstrate their mastery of the curriculum standards that contribute to their summative performance level reported at the end of the year. The pilot assessment model was developed in collaboration with ɬÀï·¬ educators, administrators, students, and families.Ìý

During the 2024–2025 school year, TTAP will be available to administer for the following grades and subjects: grade 3 math (new), grade 6 math, grade 7 math, grade 8 math (new), grade 8 social studies, and Algebra I (new). TTAP will feature three, one-week testing opportunities tentatively scheduled for the following dates:Ìý

  • Opportunity 2 (Winter)—January 27–31, 2025Ìý
  • Opportunity 3 (Spring)—March 24–28, 2025Ìý

To support district and campus administrators and teachers participating in TTAP, ɬÀï·¬will host required trainings throughout the 2024–2025 school year. A beginning-of-year training will be held in August, and subsequent trainings will be held shortly before or after each testing opportunity to ensure operational fidelity and to train educators on how to analyze and act on TTAP’s progress monitoring data.
